Can I join KKPsi if I'm in another fraternity or sorority?
Yes! Many Brothers are also involved in other professional or honorary fraternities or sororities as well as IFC/ISC social organizations (Greek life). The only exception is Tau Beta Sigma, our sister sorority. A member of Kappa Kappa Psi is not eligible for membership in Tau Beta Sigma, and vice versa.
Can I participate in both TBS and KKPsi recruitment?
Yes! We encourage you to go to both Kappa Kappa Psi and Tau Beta Sigma recruitment events! However, you may only accept a bid from one organization. KKPsi and TBS events will never conflict, so all Potential Membership Candidates will have the opportunity to get to know both organizations.
Do I have to be a first-year to join?
No! Almost every recruitment class includes a number of upperclassman Membership Candidates.
What is the time commitment for recruitment?
Recruitment lasts about two-and-a-half weeks, with around seven recruitment events total. Each event typically lasts one to two hours. Potential Membership Candidates are not required to attend all of the events or to attend the entire event. However, you are encouraged to attend as many events as possible! Generally, we recommend that Potential Membership Candidates attend at least three events. We want to get to know you and we want you to get to know us! If there are conflicts in your schedule, please reach out to the Vice President of Membership.
What is the time commitment post-recruitment?
The time commitment for the Membership Candidate semester is typically described as adding a 1-credit course. Membership Candidates should expect a time commitment of around 2-3 hours per week.
Does recruitment cost money?
No! Recruitment is free, although there are dues upon becoming a member of the fraternity. Accommodations can be made in terms of dues if needed, but more details will be covered during recruitment interest meetings.
